I can only imagine what I was doing on this day last year. Actually, I
can make a good guess: it was a Thursday, and the following day, July
1, would be my last day at work as a single gal. My job had been keeping
me insanely busy for the past couple of months, and I was trying to get
all caught up before taking 2 weeks off for my wedding week and
honeymoon. With only 9 days to the wedding, the last-minute details were
nowhere near completed (and many projects had yet to begin). Oh, and I
had just wrecked my car on the way to work that Tuesday. I was a tad
stressed.
Looking back, my perspective has changed, but
not in the way I thought it would. Those details that I thought were so
important (and did finally get finished!) were actually...okay, they were
actually important and I don't regret the time I put into them one bit!
My job that was so stressful is no longer in my life as of 12 weeks
ago. My car was fixed and was good as new by the time we got back from
Jamaica. And that wonderful man that was my fiance on this day a year
ago is now my husband.
I can say with certainty that June
30, 2012 has been much less stressful and actually downright
stress-free when compared to its 2011 counterpart. Today, Alex and I had
a nice little Saturday full of errands, home-improvement projects, and a
home-cooked meal, all topped off with frozen yogurt and playing with
the pups in the living room. Love it.
